They only need to remove about 5mm to accomplish this, which is the thickness of a contact lens. Veneers are slightly thicker and stronger than Lumineers, so they are a better choice for someone who is looking for a permanent change to their smile.
- Lumineers: With Lumineers, however, the coverings are fitted onto the teeth as is, making it a less invasive procedure overall. In order to avoid a bulky or overdone appearance, Lumineers are thinner than veneers, though they are still quite durable.
