The dental implant process can take several months from beginning to end, so it can be difficult to decide when to get started with it. There are a lot of factors to consider! After weighing their options, many people choose to embark on their tooth replacement journey during summertime. Why? There are a few reasons, which we will discuss in this blog post.
You Can Take It Easy
Many people take time off work during summer. Your boss might even already be expecting you to request a few vacation days! You may need to ask for just a day or two off work for your implant procedure and the first part of your recovery (depending on the nature of your job). You can use that time to relax inside with a good book or your favorite movies.
Plus, if your spouse and kids are at home, they will be able to use their time off to help you with some chores during your recovery period.
Your Dental Insurance Has Not Expired
Most dental insurance plans reset on January 1st. 2024 is about half over now, so it is the ideal time to start thinking about how you can use your remaining benefits before they expire at the end of the year. Even if your insurance does not cover your implants, it might cover other aspects of your care, such as preliminary procedures or the crown, bridge, or denture that will go on top of your implants.
There Are Lots of Cool Treats to Enjoy
After your dental implant surgery, you will need to adjust your eating habits for a while. You should avoid consuming overly hot foods, and summer has plenty of delicious and cool treats to choose from! You can enjoy tasty yogurt, refreshing chilled soups, and more. It is even okay to indulge in a bit of ice cream.
There Is No Time Like the Present
Dental implants offer some outstanding benefits. The sooner you get started with the process, the sooner you can start to enjoy a stronger, healthier, more confident, and more attractive smile! By this time next year, you may already be completely recovered and have a gorgeous new set of teeth in place.
This time of year can be busy, but it would be worth your while to at least talk to your dentist about replacing your missing teeth. They want to help you enjoy many summers of excellent oral health!
